SHOVELL

Shovell is an internationally renowned percussionist. He’s best known as the percussionist and co-writer/producer for multi-platinum selling group M-People who have sold over 10 million albums worldwide and, by the end of the 90’s, were one of the UK’s biggest acts.

 

 

JAZZIE B, OBE

“We’re from the days when a number 14 bus and a supermarket trolley got us around.” Jazzie will tell you when talking about his early sound system days. Following their big brothers’ Jazzie and school friend Daddae set up their first sound system called Jah Rico when they were just 13. After three years of playing mainly reggae with Jah Rico they developed a more soulful groove and Soul II Soul was created.

 

 

 

CHAKA KHAN

Best known for her superb 1984 cover of Prince’s “I Feel for You,” R&B singer Chaka Khan enjoyed solo success as well as popularity as a member of the group Rufus. Born Yvette Marie Stevens in Great Lakes, IL, on March 23, 1953, she was raised on Chicago’s South Side, and at the age of 11 formed her first group, the Crystalettes.

 

 

 

NORMSKI

An iconic and prolific individual, Normski has worked in music/tv/clubs for over 25 years. He is a radio broadcaster, MC, DJ, photographer, writer, producer and director, lending his talents to projects all over the world.
