Ahmad Dayes’ City half marathon

Ahmad Dayes has been an exceptional part of the MMC family for two decades. He is our studio engineer, music production tutor, and is gifted musician with the United Vibrations. His dulcet tones can be heard interviewing CICAS® artists in our monthly podcast.

We asked Ahmad about his journey to the half marathon taking place on Sunday 1st August 2021.

What inspired you to take part in this year’s London Landmarks Half Marathon?

“I’ve never run this far and wanted a challenge, when I saw Angela [Angelina Luzi] doing it I thought I had to have a go; such a good idea and an opportunity to get fit!”

Why have you chosen to fundraise for The Midi Music Company?

“Midi [The Midi Music Company] has been a second home for the last 20 years; it is natural for me to want to support Midi. I have experienced first-hand the help and guidance they provide with navigating the music industry; with life.”

What have you enjoyed most or struggled with in your training?

“The training has been interesting in that I’ve had to commit to regular running, which I have never done before. After the first month I began to find a rhythm and started to enjoy the challenge. I’ve struggled with aches and pains in places I never knew could ache, and pain.”

How has your talent as a musician helped your training?

“Repetition, repetition, repetition. Also, playing trombone I consider myself to have a good set of lungs.”

Where can we find you next?

“You can find me in the Recording Studio, or workshop at Midi.”
