The Mixing & Mastering course will guide you through the recording process with detailed analysis of system set ups, microphone types and placement and hands on experience with studio equipment such as mixing consoles, processors and effects units.

You will discover how to get the best results from multi-track recordings, creating layers, overdubbing, replacing notes, programming MIDI events, automation, and converting to audio. You will learn the purpose and process of mastering, commonly used tools and techniques, and how to create a mastering chain. This ten-week intensive course is designed with independent artists in mind. If you are producing your own music, Cre8tiv® Mixing and Mastering will totally raise your game.

The course will be led by John ‘Nardo’ Bailey, who has enjoyed a long and varied career in music. As a youth in the late ‘60s he operated his father’s sound system and throughout the ’70s started up other sound systems and worked as a selector and engineer. He has played drums behind many well-known reggae artists including female reggae band Amazulu. Nardo is an experienced project facilitator and music tutor working in schools and music organisations. Additionally, he is a successful music producer, sound engineer and studio owner who also broadcasts a weekly reggae programme The Love and Light Show.
